whenever we paint our house, we usually want the best paint and paint market is full of different types of paint qualities ranging from 100 bucks to 500 bucks per litre. Usually we purchase according to our budget and select the costlier paint allowed by our pocket.

Costlier the paint, better the properties of the paint like we get better finish,10-20% extra coverage and better wash ability , low odour etc.

In indian paint market, paint companies promote water based paints ( we call them plastic paint in common language) because of their higher profits.

 

But we used to paint our houses with solvent based paints if we go back in late eighties or early nineties. Today also very low % of people go with solvent based paints( we call it flat paint in common language) because of decreasing awareness. paint companies doesnot promote because of less margin and paint contractors dont like to use it because of its smell.

But believe this....flat paint is the most economical and excellent finish paint for all the houses.

It can be made by mixing 10ltrs of solvent based primer and 10ltr of enamel paint.

This way we get 20ltrs of paint at the cost of around 3500 rs. flat paint has very good coverage average and above all ITS 100% WASHABLE.

NOT ANY PLASTIC PAINT IS 100% WASHABLE.

Usually,plastic paints with sheen in their finish and better wash ability starts with the range of  6000-12000 rs.

but we get all the advantages of luxury paint in the flat paint

paint companies have made readymade flat paint with the name called satin paint but readymade satin paint costing is around 5000 rs. and it is costlier than the flat paint mixed by us.

So whenever we paint our house, think of using flat paint and if we don't want to use in the full house,then use it in kitchens and kids rooms where higher wash ability is required and remember its excellent sheen increases the energy in the room and we get the finish of luxury paint at the cost of premium quality paint
